The idea of this split release popped up after the 2 bands toured together in the fall of 2006 and became quite good friends. Yet some time did pass before everyone could actually focus on writing new material and fix recording session agendas to make the whole thing happen.
THE DAWN wanted the new songs to sound even more personal and intricate. To do so they had to improve the basic recipe used on their first album by bringing extended technical skills, adding more complex rhythms and structures, still willing to take things a bit further than before.
The first 2 tracks (Hypersquare / Juicyfur) were recorded at the band's rehearsal studio by good friend Colin Trognée (from the band Denizen).
The third one (Angels stroke horns) was composed some days later after a short jamming session and engineered by Sebastien Blanc who also shot and directed the band's first video for that same track, available on Youtube.
Recorded and mixed by Colin Trognée.
on this recording, THE DAWN is:
Bruno Povéda : drums
Frédéric Klein : guitars, lead vocals
Sébastien Blanc : bass guitar, backing vocals
